The Scarlet takes its name from the Scarlet Robin; a vivid flash of red found among the woodlands and fence lines of the Longwood and Bradbury district in the Adelaide Hills.
Like the bird itself, this Shiraz is shaped by place - cool nights, an elevated vineyard and ancient soils that favour elegance over excess.
Sourced from a single vineyard at Balhannah planted to the 1654 clone of Shiraz. The fruit was 100% de-stemmed before the whole Shiraz berries were fermented in a traditional open fermenter with regular pump overs to release the aromatic violet, red fruit and spice flavours. After fermentation the wine was pressed directly into seasoned French oak barrels for 12 months maturation. Bottled with minimal filtration.
Crafted as a community fundraiser this wine is a celebration of local character, shared effort, and the enduring connection between land, wildlife, and people.
