Pinot Gris is on a seemingly unstoppable march of popularity, and plantings, in Australia. Wines like this highlight why. Gris or Grigio? In reality, they are one and the same grape. The French call it Gris, the Italians call it Grigio. Either way, it is delicious.
This example was grown high in the cool climate Adelaide Hills. The pristine fruit was pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the delicate fruit characters and crisp acidity of the grape. Early bottling ensures the pristine characters are captured.
There's fresh cirtus notes, stone fruits and hints of guava. Textured and moreish, it finishes with a crisp cleansing note.
Where & When: This Pinot Gris is simply begging for seafood. Battered garfish with aoli and chips, a creamy prawn cocktail, or a blue swimmer crab linguine. A dozen natural oysters too.
