Arneis is native to the northwest Italian region of Piemonte. While Nebbiolo and white truffles take the Piemontese limelight, Arneis has been cultivated there for centuries, making some fabulous aromatic whites - Ask for Roero Arneis in a good wine shop.
Here in Australia, Arneis is slowly taking hold with knowledgeable cool-climate winemakers, and consumers alike. One sip will show you why.
This wine was grown high in the Eden Valley, where you’ll also find some legendary Rieslings and reds. The fruit was hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed, cool-temperature fermented, and carefully retained in a stainless tank for 12 months prior to bottling.
Ripe citrus, honeysuckle, and guava notes on the nose, giving rise to a soft and delicate mouthfeel, with the same fruit flavours rolling through to a crisp, savoury finish.

Perfect to sip while enjoying an antipasto platter, we’ve also enjoyed this wine with grilled prawns marinated in garlic, white miso, and butter. For the more adventurous, look up a recipe for Vitello Tonnato - veal with tuna sauce. This classic Piemontese dish is divine with an Arneis.
