A crisp and zesty Riesling from a unique part of the world.
I'm delighted to present this 2025 Riesling. From my earliest days at the Edinburgh Cellars in Adelaide, Riesling struck me as one of the most consistently delicious wines made in Australia.
This one comes from a region many won't know of, nor have visited. Mt Benson is tucked away between Kingston and Robe in the southeast of SA. This picturesque place, with stunning coastline and quaint towns, also houses some outstanding vineyards. The cool climate, limestone soils and abundant water combine to produce pristine wines with elegance and poise.
Harvested in the early morning, the pristine Riesling fruit was immediately pressed, and chilled further. A long, cold fermentation captured the fresh citrus characters which are a hallmark of this style.
Early bottling ensures the wine is as pure as the gorgeous region it was grown in.
Where & When: A dozen freshly shucked Coffin Bay oysters will do the job. Local salt and pepper squid at the Star of Greece at dusk. Tempura battered Coorong mullet at the Kuti Shack. Yep, fresh local seafood is the go here.
